Your local hang-out.

We created Hub Coffee to be a place for community and connection.

We believe in creating a space where connection can happen. We are passionate about introducing curious people to new possibilities.

Hub Coffee is a non-profit coffee shop located in downtown Ottumwa's old YWCA. The space has been completely renovated with a modern industrial style while still holding on to some aspects of its past--like the large windows and exposed brick walls (sadly, the pool is gone).

Here's what we want you to know--you don't need to know a single thing about coffee to come to our shop. You don't even need to like coffee. You don't need to be dressed like a hipster or understand any fancy names for drinks. Just come curious.

We hope that you are able to use our space to hang out with friends, to spoil yourself, to relax, and to get work done. We have intentionally designed the space to foster community.

Aren’t you associated with a church?

Yes! Our building (and the business) is owned by The Bridge Church. The Bridge had a vision to create a space where people could gather to build friendships and community. They also saw value in creating a space that is safe and peaceful for our guests to be able to relax, get work done, and have a little me-time.

We are a non-profit, with all of our profits going back into the community through the Kingdom Builders fund. This fund directly supports local projects like an annual shoe giveaway to provide every kid in a chosen grade in our school district with a brand new pair of shoes and socks, an annual Christmas Store where parents facing financial difficulties can get something to wear, something to read, and a fun toy for each of their kids at a low cost at Christmas time, monthly service projects along with a large annual serving event to complete projects like painting, clean up, and minor repair or building projects for families and non profits in our area, annual free oil changes for single parents in our area, supporting our local free medical clinic, and supporting our local soup kitchen.
